A letter from Stephanie about the future of The Knitter’s Planner
Nothing is permanent except change. My beautiful quilting friends, it is time for me to embrace change, dive into its rolling waves, and swim.
This April, with great joy, I will pass the glowing torch that is the Quilter’s Planner and Knitter’s Planner to a my wonderful friend, Lorinda Davis, of Laurel, Poppy and Pine. Lorinda is a brilliant quilt designer and business woman. She is also a long-time collaborator on the Quilter’s and Knitter’s Planners and is passionate about the future. I am thrilled to announce that she will be taking over the publishing of both planners and steering the helm of this ship.
The Knitter’s Planner was born almost 3 years ago when I had a burning desire to develop a method that would help knitters harness the power of their creativity, and make more space to create beautiful things each day. Most importantly, my dream was to create a space for a community of knitters to support one another as they achieved their life and knitting goals.
I was incredibly fortunate to have close friends that worked tirelessly with me to make the dream a reality. What began as a tiny project in my garage, became a robust business, enriched by an ever-expanding network of designers supporting each other, and embraced by the knitting community.
I am forever grateful to all of you who chose to have your work featured in the planner, who gave me advice and support, or who gave the planner a chance and brought it into your daily lives. You became my friends, my co-workers, and my daily inspiration!
While I am sad to leave, I am thrilled to be handing the reins to Lorinda as I know that she loves this community as much as I do and will make the Quilter’s Planner and Knitter’s Planner stronger and more beautiful than ever.
What’s next for me? I will be exploring ways to return to my first career, clinical psychology, perhaps blending it with my love of horses and the amazing healing power they have in the lives of humans. And I know I will continue to use the Knitter’s Planner in my daily life, and answer the call to create new, beautiful things each day.
I invite you to keep up with our amazing team on Instagram or Facebook to get to know Lorinda and for ideas about how to bring more creative magic to your own life through using the planner.
Hello, Quilter’s Planner and Knitters Planner friends!
My name is Lorinda Davis.
I am a wife, mother, friend, and passionate maker living in the Pacific Northwest. I thrive on organization and love helping makers feel more in control of their time and spaces.
Before anything else, I want to say thank you to Stephanie Palmer for all of her incredible work founding and running this company the last six years. She has done such a fantastic job building this community, collaborating with designers, and creating a beautiful product for us to use every day.
I share in Stephanie’s vision to help makers set aside time in their lives to do the things they love, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue the work she started in producing this wonderful tool.
I don’t want you to worry! We will still be making the amazing planners you know and love — with all the resources, project planning pages and patterns from some of quilting and knitting’s best designers. At the same time, we are working on plans to add some new features and products this year and into 2022.
As we move forward, we want to continue to build this community of makers with more planners, more products to help you stay organized and more opportunities to connect throughout the year.
And speaking of connecting: I want to hear from you! What do you love about your planner? What features do you wish we would add? And what are your favorite ways to interact with us? I’d love to hear from you and cannot wait to get to know this awesome community even better.
You can email me at [email protected].
Take care; I’ll be in touch soon!
Lorinda Davis
